Welcome to the Vancouver Island and Gulf Islands (VIGI) District of the Pionairs.
Our district currently has about 650 members throughout the islands; the majority reside in the Greater Victoria area, Nanaimo, and the Comox Valley.
Staying in touch:
Members of the VIGI district enjoy staying in touch through the following district events:
– Two coffee groups that meet regularly in Saanichton and Courtenay
– Luncheons held in the spring and/or summer and at Christmas in Victoria and Courtenay
– Newsletters at least twice/year with updates on the District and National Pionairs events, pass travel info and other membership news. Newsletter are sent by email to all members with email addresses and once each year by Canada Post to members who do not have valid email address in their Pionairs profiles.
Notices, details and photos from all of these events and newsletters are also posted on this web page. Many of our events include draws with proceeds going to a local charity or a food item collection to the local food bank. We have also donated to the nine different hospitals found in the district.
Whether you’re a resident or passing through our beautiful islands on vacation, all Pionairs members are welcome to attend our social events. It’s a great way to stay in touch, connect with former colleagues and meet new people. Please join us.
If you have some spare time and want to help or be more involved, please consider volunteering with the district. We are always looking for new members to join us and bring new ideas and suggestions to the table.
