District Director

Biography

Greetings fellow Pionairs.By way of introduction, my name is Geroges Bujould. In September of 2016 I was offered and accepted the position of Québec Pionairs District Director.

I grew up in Chateauguay, Québec, and after completing high school, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces and trained as an Airframe Technician at Camp Borden Ontario. I then was posted to Moose-Jaw Saskatchewan in 1975 in support of the NATO pilot training program.

In 1980, leaving the Forces, I moved back to my home town and continued my aviation career with Canadair, being assigned to the Challenger executive jet project. After working in Dorval for Canadian Pacific airlines for one year in 1981, I was laid-off.

From 1981 to 1985, I worked for employers in different fields but was not happy. I missed the aerospace industry so started applying to different airline companies for employment. In 1985, I was hired by Air Canada and found my calling, working in the Engine Shop at Dorval until I left in 2007 to take the position of General Chairman of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers (IAMAW). As such, I represented Maintenance personnel of Air Canada, Air Transat and Bombardier.

Upon retiring from IAMAW in 2012, I subsequently joined the Québec District Pionairs Executive Committee in 2014, become the Director in 2016.

I am also a member of the Montérégie West Community Network, an organization that supports English services in our community.

I look forward to meeting many of you and serving our Québec membership during my term of office.

Georges Bujold,

Quebec District Director
